God's Miracle, Transformation, Anonymous

When I was 10 years old I asked my mother how she knew that just because we were born in our religion that it was the `real one', and that we worshipped the `true God'. My mom tried mightily to answer my doubts, but I went away without any real confirmation.

By the time I was eighteen I was deeply involved with alcohol and drugs, trying to fill the emptiness in my being. I led a life without purpose and had a guilty conscience, not realizing what it was that I needed. Relatives invited me to a gospel meeting of the local church where I was awed by the shining faces and testimonies of people such as I'd never seen before. These people openly adored God, knew the Bible, and even though I felt dirty in comparison, they received me lovingly.

When the brothers speaking asked if anyone would like to pray to receive the Lord I found myself standing as tears from long, sad, sinful years flowed. I was baptized that night, 24 years ago, and began to meet with the local church. It was then that I began to know this God who saves to the uttermost those who come forward to Him.

Over the years I have appreciated more and more the faithfulness of God in the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee to bring me into God's purpose to have His sons filled with Him to express Him as His Body. Through meeting with the local church and reading the Bible and the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee daily, my life has been transformed from shame and emptiness to one of a new person in Christ, filled with love for this One who forgave me, called me, saved me, and brought me to the local church where I can be filled with all the riches that are in Him. I can absolutely say that what the Lord has done in me, in my family, and in my life is a miracle. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. This is my experience in the local church.
